    $\text{=43.[19+(-20]+40}$
    $\text{=43.(-1)-40}$
    $\text{=-43+40}$
    $\text{=-3}$

    19 * 43 + (-20) * 43 – (-40)
    = 43 * [19 + (-20)] + 40
    = 43 * (-1) + 40
    = -43 + 40
    = -3
