a, (x+1) ³ – (x-1) ³ – 6(x-1) ² = -10

    (x+1)^3 -(x-1)^3 -6(x-1)^2 = -10
    x^3 +3x^2 +3x+1 -(x^3-3x^2+3x-1) – 6(x^2 -2x+1)=-10
    x^3+3x^2+3x+1-x^3+3x^2-3x+1-6x^2+12x-6=-10
    12x -4 =-10
    12x=-6
    x=-1/2
