    a) $P=x+2$
    b) $P=6$ hoặc $P=7$ tại x thoả mãn $x^2-9x+20=0$
    Lời giải và giải thích chi tiết:
    a)
    $P=\left(\dfrac{8}{x^2-16}+\dfrac{1}{x+4}\right):\dfrac{1}{x^2-2x-8}\,\,\,(x\ne\pm4;x\ne-2)\\=\left(\dfrac{8}{(x-4)(x+4)}+\dfrac{1}{x+4}\right).(x-4)(x+2)\\=\dfrac{8+x-4}{(x-4)(x+4)}.(x-4)(x+2)\\=\dfrac{x+4}{x+4}.(x+2)\\=x+2$
    b)
    $P=x+2$
    $x^2-9x+20=0\\⇔x^2-4x-5x+20=0\\⇔x(x-4)-5(x-4)=0\\⇔(x-4)(x-5)=0\\⇔\left[\begin{array}{l}x=4\\x=5\end{array}\right.$
    + Với $x=4\to P=4+2=6$
    + Với $x=5\to P=5+2=7$
