    $\sqrt{x^2 – 4x + 1}$ + x^2 = 4x – 1
    ĐKXĐ: $\left[\begin{matrix} x \le 2 – \sqrt{3} \\ x ≥ 2 + \sqrt{3} \end{matrix}\right.$
    PT ⇔ $\sqrt{x^2 – 4x + 1}$ + x^2 – 4x + 1 = 0
    Đặt: $\sqrt{x^2 – 4x + 1}$ = a, ta có:
    PT ⇔ a + a^2 = 0
    ⇔ a(a + 1) = 0
    ⇔ $\left[\begin{matrix} a+1=0\\ a = 0\end{matrix}\right.$
    Vì: a = $\sqrt{x^2 – 4x + 1}$ ≥ 0 ∀ a nên không thể xảy ra trường hợp a + 1 = 0
    ⇒ a = 0 $\text{(thỏa mãn)}$
    ⇒ $\sqrt{x^2 – 4x + 1}$ = 0
    ⇔ x^2 – 4x + 1 = 0
    ⇔ (x^2 – 4x + 4) – 3 = 0
    ⇔ (x – 2)^2 – $(\sqrt{3})^{2}$ = 0
    ⇔ (x – 2 -$\sqrt{3}$)( x – 2 + $\sqrt{3}$) = 0
    ⇔ $\left[\begin{matrix} x = 2 – \sqrt{3} \\ x = 2 + \sqrt{3} \end{matrix}\right.$ $\text{(thỏa mãn)}$
