    $\text{ = 1000 – ( 1 + 2 + 3 + … + 100 ) }$
    $\text{ = 1000 – $\dfrac{( 1 + 100 ). 100}{2}$ }$
    $\text{ = 1000 – 101. 50 }$
    $\text{ = 1000 – 5050 }$
    $\text{ = -4050 }$
