    2x ²- 4x + $\sqrt{x² – 2x  – 3}$ – 9 = 0
    ĐKXĐ: $\left[\begin{matrix} x ≥ 3\\ x ≤ -1\end{matrix}\right.$
    ⇔ 2x² – 4x – 9 + $\sqrt{x² – 2x  – 3}$ = 0
    ⇔ 2(x² – 2x – 3) + $\sqrt{x² – 2x  – 3}$ – 3 = 0
    Đặt: $\sqrt{x² – 2x  – 3}$ = a, ta có
    PT ⇔ 2a² + a – 3 = 0
    ⇔ 2a² – 2a + 3a – 3 = 0
    ⇔ 2a(a – 1) + 3(a – 1) = 0
    ⇔ (a – 1)(2a + 3) = 0
    ⇔ $\left[\begin{matrix} a = 1\\ a = \dfrac{-3}{2}\end{matrix}\right.$
    Vì: $\sqrt{x² – 2x  – 3}$ ≥ 0 ∀ x ⇒ a >= 0
    ⇒ Không thể xảy ra trường hợp a = -3/2
    ⇒ a = 1 thỏa mãn
    ⇒ $\sqrt{x² – 2x  – 3}$ = 1
    ⇔ x² – 2x  – 3 = 1
    ⇔ x² – 2x – 4 = 0
    ⇔ (x² – 2x + 1) – 5 = 0
    ⇔ (x – 1)² – (\sqrt{5})² = 0
    ⇔ (x – 1 – \sqrt{5})(x – 1 + \sqrt{5}) = 0
    ⇔ $\left[\begin{matrix} x = 1 + \sqrt{5}\\ x = 1 – \sqrt{5}\end{matrix}\right.$ $\text{(thỏa mãn)}$
