a) $\sqrt{4x – 8}$ – 4$\sqrt{x – 2}$ + $\sqrt{9x – 18}$ = 4 Đkxđ: x ≥ 2

⇔ $\sqrt{4.(x – 2)}$ – 4$\sqrt{x – 2}$ + $\sqrt{9.(x – 2)}$ = 4

⇔ 2$\sqrt{x – 2}$ – 4$\sqrt{x – 2}$ + 3$\sqrt{x – 2}$ = 4

⇔ $\sqrt{x – 2}$ = 4

⇔ x – 2 = 16

⇔ x = 18 (t/m)

Vậy x = 18

b) $\sqrt{(x – 4)²}$ = 6 Đkxđ: x ∈ R

⇔ |x – 4| = 6

⇔ \(\left[ \begin{array}{l}x – 4 = 6\\x – 4 = -6\end{array} \right.\)

⇔ \(\left[ \begin{array}{l}x = 10(t/m)\\x = -2 (t/m)\end{array} \right.\)

Vậy x ∈ {10; -2}
