=x^2+1-(x^4+1)/(x^2-1)
=((x^2+1)(x^2-1))/(x^2-1)-(x^4+1)/(x^2-1)
=((x^2)^2-1)/(x^2-1)-(x^4+1)(x^2-1)
=(x^4-1)/(x^2-1)-(x^4+1)/(x^2-1)
=(x^4-1-x^4-1)/(x^2-1)
