    $\textit{A = ( -5 ) + 7 – 14 – 23 + 71}$
    $\textit{A = 2 – 14 – 23 + 71}$
    $\textit{A = ( -12 ) – 23 + 71}$
    $\textit{A = ( -35 ) + 71}$
    $\textit{A = 36}$

    = [ (-5) + (-14) + (-23) ] + ( 7 + 71 )
    = (-42) + 78
    = 36
    => A = 36
