Ta có : | \sqrt{x} – 10 | = | 10 – \sqrt{x} | ≥ 10 – \sqrt{x}

| 7 – \sqrt{x} | = | \sqrt{x} – 7 | ≥ \sqrt{x} – 7

P = | \sqrt{x} – 10 | + | 7 – \sqrt{x} | + | \sqrt{y} – 17 | ≥ 10 – \sqrt{x} + \sqrt{x} – 7 + | \sqrt{y} – 17 |

⇔ P ≥ | – 3 | + | \sqrt{y} – 17 |

⇔ P ≥ 3 + | \sqrt{y} – 17 | ≥ 3

Dấu ” = ” xảy ra khi $\begin{cases} | \sqrt{y} – 17 | = 0\\( 10 – \sqrt{x} ) . ( \sqrt{x} – 7) ≥ 0 \end{cases}$

⇔ $\begin{cases}\sqrt{y} = 17 \\7 ≤ \sqrt{x} ≤ 10 \end{cases}$

⇔ $\begin{cases}y = 289 \\49 ≤ x ≤ 100 \end{cases}$

Vậy , giá trị nhỏ nhất của P là 3 .
